Letter Dated July 15, 1999
Dear Merrily,
We were all thankful and delighted that my note reached you.
Thank you for responding so promptly. It took Bryan a couple
mail it today (anyway). I think it's a perfect letter, and I hope
you will too. I have a million questions, and suppose you do
too, but I will take a back seat for awhile, and let you and
Bryan begin this. If you do want or need something from me,
do not hesitate, because I am here.
I would like to tell you that you have been in our hearts and
prayers all these years, with special thoughts of love and thanks
from me to you each April 1st. This does not mean that Mr. D
[Bryan's A-dad] has not felt the same, but I will let him speak
for himself when the time is right.
Love,
Mom-of-Bryan

Soon you will have to have a 10 year anniversary party!
oh...this just warms my heart.
I've really enjoyed reading these letters. They have all sounded so open and loving and warm...both yours and theirs.
When I think of all the ways this could have played out, I am just so happy for you!
I am so glad this all worked out for you guys. It's great reading the letters that began it all, such a great story.
And such a relief for you to know that he has such wonderful parents!
I feel all warm and fuzzy, I love these letters, so open and honest.
This truly is so heartwarming in every which way.
What a wonderful son. You are truly blessed.
I too love following these letters. Everyone involved is so lucky...and so loving.
You have to stop doing this to me! Every time I read your blog, I cry.
Choosing to have your baby adopted is the single most selfless act one can do. To say you gave the adoptive family a 'gift' is such an understatement. You gave them their life.
Your blog always moves me. Every single time.
Take care...
:^) Anna
I just read through all of your posts tagged as "Bryan." What an incredible story. And at quick glance, it looks as if you have found a good balance having him in your life. Amazing. And wonderful. I was completely on the edge of my seat.
I'm so glad you commented on my blog today. I had neglected to click the follow button last time I was on your blog, and I had lost track of you.
You are exactly who I want to be reading. I'm in such a dark place, wishing my bio mother would find it in her heart to contact me. I just never considered that I would find her, and she would flat out deny the whole thing. I'm hoping that she'll change her mind. I admire you so much, and appreciate your sharing this part of your life.
You probably already know that I am lucky enough to be Mommy to a *perfect* boy whom we adopted as a newborn.
I thank his birthmother in my head and in my heart every.single.day that she giftest us with this amazing kid.
I feel certain that Bryan's mom does the same thing.
PS I'm also a Decaturite...small world!
